Introduction to PTC
Thirty years ago, John C. Ness was a successful dental laboratory owner in Mountain View, California. Faced with the common problem of every growth-oriented lab owner of how to hire and train enough productive technicians to sustain growth and quality, John envisioned a training program that could rapidly bring a new employee to a high level of quality and productivity. By focusing on dental technology fundamentals and documenting the most successful techniques John developed the first PTC course. The original PTC Skill Learning System utilized a series of videos, manuals, models, and tools to teach students standardized step by step procedures that directly addressed the needs of a dental laboratory. The first system provided the foundation for the 23 training programs PTC offers today. Over the years PTC has continued to develop and introduce new programs, services, and products. In addition to its comprehensive training systems, PTC now offers consulting services, management training, technical seminars for Crown and Bridge, Porcelain, and Dentures and a premium line of dental laboratory supplies (Blue Dolphin) designed to complement PTC production techniques. PTC is committed to helping laboratories large and small by providing effective solutions to make their goals a reality.
PTC's Mission
The mission of Productivity Training Corporation is to provide professional dental laboratories with effective, proven technical and management training materials and systems that will enable them to:
PTC accomplishes these goals by developing comprehensive technical manuals and videos for all phases of lab production and dental anatomy. These skills and standardized production procedures, together with a common team vocabulary and knowledge base, provide management with the tools to achieve their productivity, quality, and growth goals. Equally important to the materials is the ability to teach them. PTC's advanced Training and Verification System adds a structured training program, specialized Director of Training & Education training, drills to accelerate learning comprehension and management training. With TVS in place, management can truly gain control of production, quality and staffing and the lab becomes a steadily growing team. PTC is based on fundamentals that we believe form the natural way to train, to produce efficiently, and which do, in fact, form the foundation for achieving the highest levels of aesthetics and quality. I invite you to talk to us about your lab and to consider joining the thousands of labs world-wide who are succeeding with PTC. |
