Course Descriptions
Crown and Bridge Waxing and Framework Design
In this four-day course, participants will study the specific fundamentals of posterior anatomy, step-by-step procedures for full crown waxing, and porcelain framework design. Using the standard procedures and objectives learned, each student will wax a full upper molar, upper premolar and lower first molar. They will also wax a four unit upper posterior bridge framework and a six unit anterior bridge framework. Particular attention is placed on pontic design and placement.
Porcelain Application and Contouring
In this four day course, participants will study anterior and posterior anatomy and standard procedures for porcelain application and contouring. Participants will apply porcelain to and contour a four unit posterior bridge and a six unit anterior bridge. The course dedicates approximately 50% or time to theory and 50% to hands on. The goal of this course is to provide the student with stable references and standard step-by-step procedures that provide the foundation for sound opinion and judgement for all future cases.
Creating Natural Dentures
This goal of this four day hands on course is to teach the student the fundamental and advanced procedures necessary to produce a premium denture. Subjects covered are: Oral Anatomy, Constructing Recording Devices, Setting Anterior and Posterior Teeth, Tissue Waxing and Contouring, and Finishing Natural Dentures. Students will create base plates, esthetic control bases and at least one full upper and lower complete denture waxup. The course does not include processing.
